If you’re living in rebellion, breaking Torah, holding grudges, or just treating prayer like a vending machine — you know like, “I put in my request, now give me what I want” — that’s not how it works. There’s a reason some prayers don’t get through.

So, let’s clear this up. What does it mean to be righteous? I feel like this word gets thrown around a lot, but most people don’t really break it down. Righteousness isn’t about being perfect or holier-than-thou. It’s about being in right standing with Yahuah. It’s about obedience, humility, and faith. It’s about living according to His instructions — His Torah — and trusting in Yahusha as your King and High Priest. Righteousness is a posture of the heart, not just a checklist of good deeds.

So, how do you actually become righteous? First, you gotta repent from sin. And let’s be clear — sin is Torah-breaking. 1 John 3:4 says it straight up. You turn back to the Torah, you learn it, you obey it, you guard it. Then, you believe in Yahusha as the Son of Yahuah — your King, your High Priest. You get immersed in His Name, that’s how you enter the covenant. You receive the Ruach Ha’Qodesh, the Set-Apart Spirit, to empower your walk. And you gotta stay humble, walk in faith, not pride. Prayer isn’t just a ritual, it’s a relationship. James 5:16 says, “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” That’s not just a nice saying — it’s a promise.

Yahusha said, don’t be like the hypocrites who love to be seen. Go into your secret place, talk to your Father. Pray with faith, believing He hears you. Pray according to His will, not just your own desires. And don’t forget — give thanks, confess your sins, intercede for others. It’s not about how long or loud you pray, it’s about your heart and your alignment with Him.

Well, 1 John 3:22 lays it out: “Whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do what pleases Him.” That’s it. Obedience and pleasing Yahuah. If you’re walking in His ways, keeping His commandments, and your heart is right, your prayers have power. It’s not about twisting His arm or saying the right words — it’s about relationship and obedience. That’s the real key.

There’s a few things the remnant needs to know about prayer. First, prayer is warfare. Your words have power in the spiritual realm. When you pray, you’re not just talking — you’re fighting, you’re shifting things. Prayer is prophetic, too — it releases Yahuah’s will on earth. It’s intercession, standing in the gap for others, like Ezekiel 22:30 talks about. Prayer is relationship, not about volume but about connection. And prayer is identity — it reminds you who you are and who He is. Don’t ever forget that.
