Chapter 1
Intro
Pierre Alexandre Nissi Lidji
Shalom family! I’m your brother Pierre Lidji, and you’re listening to The Remnant Awakens. If you’ve been with us for a while, you know we don’t shy away from the tough stuff. We dig deep, we question, we challenge, and we seek the truth—no matter how challenging it gets. So, today, we’re about to step on some toes, but it’s all love, I promise. We’re talking about the letters of Sha’ul—yeah, Paul—and how the church, for centuries, has twisted his words to erase the very covenant that Yahusha came to restore. So, buckle up, grab your Scriptures, and let’s get into it.
Chapter 2
WHO WAS SHA’UL (PAUL)?
Pierre Alexandre Nissi Lidji
Alright, before we even touch Galatians or Romans or Colossians, we gotta ask—who was Sha’ul? I mean, most folks just call him Paul, but his Hebrew name was Sha’ul. He was a Pharisee, a Torah scholar, a Hebrew of Hebrews, from the tribe of Benjamin. This brother knew the law inside and out. He wasn’t some random Greek philosopher, you know? He was raised in the traditions, he loved the Torah, and he was zealous—sometimes too zealous, honestly. Remember, he was persecuting believers before Yahusha knocked him off his horse. So, when we read his letters, we gotta remember: he’s not anti-Torah. He’s not starting a new religion. He’s trying to help people—both Israelites and Gentiles—understand what it means to walk in covenant, in the Spirit, through Yahusha. That’s the foundation. If we miss that, we’ll twist everything he says.
Chapter 3
HOW THE CHURCH TWISTED GALATIANS
Pierre Alexandre Nissi Lidji
Now, let’s talk about Galatians. This is the big one, right? Galatians chapter 2 verse 16—“A man is not justified by the works of the law (Torah), but by the belief in Yahusha Messiah.” The church loves to quote this and say, “See? The law(Torah) is done away with! Just believe!” But, hold up. That’s not what Sha’ul was saying. He was dealing with people who thought you could earn righteousness by ticking off boxes—circumcision, rituals, all that. But he never said the Torah was bad. He was saying, you can’t be justified—made right—by your own works. It’s faith in Yahusha that brings you into covenant. But once you’re in, you walk it out. You obey. It’s not either-or. It’s both, Faith and obedience go hand in hand.
Chapter 4
HOW THE CHURCH TWISTED ROMANS
Pierre Alexandre Nissi Lidji
Alright, let’s move to Romans. Romans chapter 6 verse 14—“You are not under the law (Torah) but under grace.” Man, if I had a dollar for every time I heard that used to justify lawlessness (Torahlessness), I’d be rich. But what does Sha’ul actually mean? He’s not saying, “Go do whatever you want.” He’s saying, you’re not under the condemnation of the law (Torah) anymore. You’re not under the penalty, because Yahusha paid the price. But does that mean you throw out the commandments? No way. In fact, if you keep reading, Sha’ul says, “Should we sin because we are not under the law (Torah) but under grace? Absolutely not!” I always laugh, because people stop at verse 14 and never read verse 15. It’s like, come on, read the whole thing! Grace empowers you to obey, not to rebel. That’s the real message.
Chapter 5
HOW THE CHURCH TWISTED COLOSSIANS
Pierre Alexandre Nissi Lidji
Now, Colossians chapter 2 verse 14—this one gets wild. “Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us...” The church says, “See? The law (Torah) is nailed to the cross!” But, wait, what was actually nailed? Was it the Torah, or was it the record of our sins, the debt we owed? If you look at the context, Sha’ul is talking about the accusations, the charges against us—our guilt, our shame. Yahusha took that and nailed it to the stake. He didn’t nail the commandments. He fulfilled them. He showed us how to live them out by the Spirit. So, when people say, “The law is gone,” I’m like, “Which law? The law of sin and death, or the law of Yahuah?” There’s a difference. And if you don’t see that, you’ll end up lawless (Torahlessness), thinking you’re free, but really you’re just lost.
Chapter 6
THE ROOT OF THE MISUSE: ANTI-TORAH DOCTRINE
Pierre Alexandre Nissi Lidji
So, why did the church twist Sha'ul (Paul’s) words so much? Honestly, it comes down to anti-Torah doctrine. After the apostles died, the church started drifting—mixing in Greek philosophy, Roman customs, and, honestly, a lot of anti-Semitism. They wanted to separate from anything “Jewish,” so they took Sha'ul (Paul’s) letters and used them as a weapon. Instead of seeing him as a Torah-loving Hebrew, they painted him as the founder of a new religion. But that’s not true. Sha’ul never stopped keeping the feasts, never stopped honoring the Sabbath. He was misunderstood and honestly, sometimes he’s hard to read. Even Kepha (Peter) said, “Some things Sha'ul writes are hard to understand, and people twist them to their own destruction.” That’s in 2 Peter chapter 3 verse 16. So, if you’re confused, you’re not alone. But don’t let confusion turn into rebellion.
Chapter 7
THE REMNANT RESPONSE
Pierre Alexandre Nissi Lidji
So, what do we do as the remnant? First, we return to the Hebrew context of Scripture. We read Sha'ul's letters alongside the Torah and the Prophets, not in isolation. We let the Ruach Ha’Qodesh—guide us into all truth, not just what’s popular or easy. And we remember, Yahusha didn’t come to erase the law. He came to fulfill it, to write it on our hearts. That’s the new covenant—Torah written inside, not thrown away. So, if you’re reading Sha'ul and it sounds like he’s saying, “Forget the commandments,” pause. Go back. Pray. Ask the Ruach to show you what he really meant. And don’t be afraid to challenge what you’ve been taught. I mean, we’ve been doing that all season, right? Whether it’s holidays, symbols, or even the word “Christian”—we gotta test everything.
Chapter 8
CLOSING TRUTH
Pierre Alexandre Nissi Lidji
Here’s the bottom line, family: Sha'ul’s letters were never meant to start Christianity. He wasn’t trying to create a new religion. He was writing to help scattered Israelites and Gentiles return to covenant through Yahusha. He wanted everyone—no matter where they came from—to be grafted in, to walk in obedience, to know the Father. If we read his words with that in mind, everything changes. It’s not about law versus grace. It’s about covenant, relationship, and transformation.
