The Remnant Awakens - John 3:16 – The Covenant Verse Christianity Never Understood

The remnant awakens

Chapter 1

Intro

Pierre Alexandre Nissi Lidji

shalom family. This is Pierre Lidji, and you’re listening to The Remnant Awakens. I’m glad you’re here, whether you’re tuning in for the first time or you’ve been walking with us through all these episodes. You know, every week we dig a little deeper, we challenge what we’ve been taught, and we try to get back to the roots—the real roots—of faith. Today, we’re gonna talk about a verse that everybody knows, but almost nobody understands. John chapter 3 verse 16. Yeah, that one. But I promise, you’ve never heard it like this before.

Chapter 2

WHO IS ELOHIM LOVING IN JOHN 3:16?

Pierre Alexandre Nissi Lidji

So, let’s just start right there. “For Elohim so loved the world…” But, hold up. What does that even mean? Who is Elohim loving here? See, most of us, we grew up hearing this verse in English, through a Western, Greek mindset. But if you look at it from the Hebrew lens, “the world” isn’t just some random, lawless mass of people. In Hebrew thought, “the world” often points to the people Yahuah created for His purpose—His covenant people, Yashar’el, and those grafted in. It’s not just a blanket statement for everybody doing whatever they want. I mean, if you read the Tanakh, you see over and over, Yahuah’s love is covenant love. It’s not just sentimental, it’s loyal, it’s faithful, it’s about relationship. So, when John writes this, he’s not talking about some universal, feel-good love. He’s talking about the love that moves Elohim to act for His people, to restore what was broken.

Chapter 3

WHO IS “THE SON”?

Pierre Alexandre Nissi Lidji

Now, let’s look at the next part. “He gave His Yachid, His only brought-forth Son.” Notice, it doesn’t say “second god” or “another member of a trinity.” That’s Greek philosophy, not Hebrew scripture. We talked about this in the episode on the so-called Church Fathers—how they brought in all these ideas that Yahusha and the apostles never taught. The Son here is Yahusha, the one sent by the Father, not some Greek savior or a Romanized Jesus. He’s the promised Seed, the one prophesied from Genesis, the one who came to restore the covenant. If you miss that, you miss the whole point of Yahuchanan (John) chapter 3 verse 16. It’s not about a new religion, it’s about the fulfillment of the promise to Avraham, Yitzchaq, and Ya'aqov.

Chapter 4

WHAT DOES “BELIEVE IN HIM” REALLY MEAN?

Pierre Alexandre Nissi Lidji

And here’s where it gets real. “That whoever believes in Him…” But what does “believe” mean? In the Hebrew mindset, belief isn’t just saying, “Yeah, I believe in Yahusha.” No, no, no. It’s not a magic word. Belief is faith that produces obedience. It’s trust that leads to action. Like, if you say you believe, but you don’t walk it out, you’re just fooling yourself. James—Ya’aqov—said, “Faith without works is dead.” That’s not just a New Testament thing, that’s Torah. Avraham believed, and he obeyed. Mosheh believed, and he acted. So, when Yahuchanan (John) says “believe in Him,” he’s talking about a faith that transforms you, that brings you back into covenant, that makes you walk the narrow path. Not just lip service.

Chapter 5

WHAT IS THE COVENANT CONNECTION?

Pierre Alexandre Nissi Lidji

Now, here’s where Christianity kinda misses it. They teach John chapter 3 verse 16 like it’s a free ticket to heaven. Just say the prayer, and you’re in. But that’s not what the verse is saying. It’s a covenant verse. It’s about returning to the agreement Yahuah made with His people. Remember, in previous episodes, we talked about how the prophets, the apostles, even Yahusha Himself, all kept the Torah. They lived in covenant. John chapter 3 verse 16 is calling us back to that. It’s not a license to live however you want. It’s an invitation to come out of Babylon, out of religion, and back into obedience. That’s the real connection.

Chapter 6

WHAT’S THE PROMISE?

Pierre Alexandre Nissi Lidji

So, what’s the promise? “Shall not perish but have everlasting life.” But what does that mean? It’s not about floating off to heaven when you die. We talked about this in the episode on the Rich Man and Lazarus—how the real hope is resurrection, life on a renewed earth, not some Greek afterlife. Everlasting life is the promise to those who stay in covenant, who endure, who walk in obedience. It’s not automatic. It’s not for the lawless. It’s for the remnant, the faithful, the ones who hold on to the testimony of Yahusha and keep the commandments. That’s the promise. That’s the hope.

Chapter 7

CLOSING TRUTH

Pierre Alexandre Nissi Lidji

So, let’s just be real. John chapter 3 verse 16 is not a universal, lawless, watered-down invitation. It’s a covenant call. It’s Yahuah saying, “Come out of her, My people. Return to Me. Walk the narrow way.” It’s not about joining a religion, it’s about coming back to obedience, to faith that works, to a relationship that changes you. If you’re tired of the lies, the traditions, the confusion—this is your wake-up call. The remnant is rising, and the King is coming. Don’t miss it.
